Many, if not most, restorations can be done without anesthetic (the Novocain™ shot). He doesn't place mercury fillings in teeth; instead, Dr. Tessier uses only the much-more biologically compatible plastic or porcelain restorations. Crowns and caps, and even bridges, are most often fabricated without metal.
Current medical research demonstrates that gum inflammation (gingivitis) can have a correlation to heart disease, diabetes, strokes, problems in pregnancy (including low birth-weight), and even pancreatic cancer. Dr. Tessier uses the PerioLase® laser to improve gum health. Healthy gums help preserve teeth and prevent bad breath, and ensure general physiological health.
As well as being expert in placing conventional braces to straighten teeth, Dr. Tessier is a certified Invisalign® provider. Invisalign® orthodontics correct teeth using trays that are virtually invisible. For in-office teeth whitening, Dr. Tessier employs Discus Dental's ZOOM!2®. This procedure only takes one hour, and can dramatically whiten teeth up to 8 shades.

When patients' teeth are mal-aligned or if the bite is off, the jaw joint (TMJ) is affected. This can cause muscle pain, headaches, and back and neck problems. Dr. Tessier has trained in the use of the T-Scan®, a computer-generated occlusal (bite) analysis program designed to find bite irregularities. Using this program, Dr. Tessier can analyze and treat TMJ disorders and dramatically improve patients' overall health and comfort.
